Importing a Car as an Oleh Hadash
At Sonigo International, we are experts in importing vehicles to Israel and we import many vehicle every year. As an Oleh Chadash, you get a customs tax discount on a vehicle import but you still will pay over 78% of the value of the car and the shipment just in customs taxes!
In order to import a car (or motorcycle under 24 months old) you need a clean title (i.e. no liens) on the vehicle and the title must be in the Oleh’s name. You also need:
- A clean Car Fax Report (if from North America) or a Certificate of Conformity (if from Europe)
- A letter from the vehicle’s authorized Israeli Garage/Mechanic stating that they are willing to supply parts and service for the vehicle (you are not required to order parts through them)
- Original Invoice and Proof of Payment
- A picture of the metal plate showing VIN number, assembly pland and date of assembly
- Your driver’s license from oversea
- An Israeli Driver’s License
